Total kilowatt-hours the system produced in the last full year. Round is fine.

How to find production

Every solar system tracks production automatically.

The seller has an app or online account showing exactly how much energy their system has produced. Here's where to look — ask the seller which one they use, or check the inverter brand from the contract.

Tesla Solar / Powerwall

Tesla app

Open the Tesla app → tap the home icon → Energy → Energy History → switch view to Year. Total "Solar Produced" is the number.

Enphase

Enlighten app / website

Open enlighten.enphaseenergy.com or the Enphase App → sign in → tap Energy → set the date range to Last 12 months. "Energy Produced" total is the number.

SolarEdge

mySolarEdge / monitoringpublic

Open the mySolarEdge app or monitoring.solaredge.com → sign in → Dashboard → switch the chart to Year. Total production for the last 12 months is the number.

Sunrun / SunPower / Sunnova

Provider app / customer portal

Sign into the provider's app or customer portal → look for Production, Energy History, or Annual Summary. If nothing shows online, request a "Year 1 production report" from the provider — they always keep this on file.

Utility bill (fallback)

PG&E / SMUD / etc.

Any utility bill on a solar home shows net metering credits. The most recent True-Up statement (annual settlement) lists total kWh exported and imported for the year — production is roughly (exported + on-site self-consumption). Sellers can log into their utility account for this.
